Tinting car windows by yourself, can often be a real pain, selecting the right shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can often be a real burden as well, needing to take the time off work, or losing your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Wolverhampton and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

What we do

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
