How it works

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from view?

From your responses to those questions our trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
