Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a real pain, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or having no car for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Dorridge and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted and sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to the questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
