How it works
- You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of view?
Based on your answers to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
