Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of view?
From your responses to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
