What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
