How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
