Tinting car windows by yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your car to be tinted at a local garage can often be a hassle as well, having to take some time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Dresden and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.

Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of sight?

From your responses to those questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
