How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

Based on your answers to those questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
