Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a real pain, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your car to be tinted locally can be a real burden as well, needing to take the time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Bridstow and nearby towns. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables out of view?

From your responses to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
