How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
