Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your answers to those questions our qualified specialists can help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
