Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to these questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
