What we do

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from view?

Using your responses to the questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars produced today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
