How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
