Tinting your car windows by yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your car to be tinted locally can often be a real burden too, needing to take time off work, or having no car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Oscott and nearby towns. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

We also provide both tinted and vinyl sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

Our process

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables from view?

Using your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
