What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of sight?

Using your responses to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
