How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

Based on your responses to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
