What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Using your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles made today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
