What we do
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
From your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
