Tinting your car windows by yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can often be a hassle too, needing to take the time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often not possible.
At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Brandhall and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.
We also provide both tinted & sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from view?
From your responses to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
