What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
