What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
