What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to these questions our trained professionals can help you to select the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
