How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from view?
From your answers to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
