How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
From your responses to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
