What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to the questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
