How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Using your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
