Tinting your car windows by yourself, can be a real pain, choosing the right shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a hassle too, having to take time off work, or having no car for many hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.
At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Edgmond and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.
We are able to offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.
Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to these questions our trained professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
