Tinting car windows by yourself, is often a real hassle, selecting the best brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a hassle too, having to take time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.
At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including King’s Norton and nearby towns. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.
We also offer both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.
Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
