Tinting car windows yourself, is often a real hassle, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to be tinted locally can be a hassle too, having to take the time off work, or losing your car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.
At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Leintwardine and surrounding areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.
We are able to offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, car light tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to these questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
