Tinting your car windows yourself, is often a real pain, selecting the best shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can often be a real burden as well, needing to take time off work, or having no car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We are able to offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from sight?

From your answers to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
