Tinting your car windows yourself, can be a real pain, selecting the right brand, shade, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Madley and surrounding areas. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?

From your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars produced today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
