How it works

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to these questions our trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
