Our process
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
