How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
