How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from view?
From your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
