What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
