At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Harborough Magna and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
