How it works
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
