How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables from view?
Based on your responses to the questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
