How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
