What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
Using your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars produced today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
