How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from sight?
From your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
