Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
