What we do
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
