Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of view?
From your answers to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
