- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
