What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables out of sight?
From your answers to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles made today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
