What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?

Using your responses to the questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
